Improvements in coating machines

In a machine for coating candies &c. spaced on an endless travelling foraminous belt 40 over which pours the coating from an overflow distributer pan 36 supplied with the coating from a tank 18 which receives the excess coating falling through the belt, access to the various parts for cleaning is obtained by mounting the belt and the coating supply means in an upper frame 11, Fig. 4, which can be pivoted up about 20. The distributer pan 36 may be mounted in a top frame 12 pivoted at 42 so that it may be swung away from the upper frame 11 to allow of cleaning the belt 40 &c. The means for lifting the coating from the bottom tank 18 into the distreated is lower, to the oxidation stage. rotated discs 30, 31 dipping into the tank 18 and engaging scrapers 34 and 35, to scrape the coating from the sides of the discs into the pan 36. This mechanism is also mounted in the upper frame 11 and pivots up with it for access cleaning. The pivot 20 is near the centre of gravity of the combined frames 11 and 12. A blower 106 is suspended in the top frame 12. A motor 16 with belts 105, 50 and 100 drives the apparatus. Belts 105 and 50 only need to be disconnected to allow pivoting up of both frames.
