DEVICE FOR PURIFYING GASES

A device for purifying gases relates to wet gas treatment and can be used in metallurgical, chemical and other industries. A device for scrubbing gases comprises a confuser and a diffuser connected by a neck, an upper wedge-shaped cowling mounted in a confuser with an upward tip to create in a confuser two convergent channels for gas, a lower wedge-shaped cowling mounted in a diffuser with a downward tip to create in the diffuser two divergent channels for gas, two half-shutters installed in the area of neck with possibility of rotation for adjustment of the neck area, a nozzle system of irrigation, which nozzles are located in the confuser. The basis of the lower wedge-shaped cowling installed along the length of the diffuser is located almost at the level of the basis of diffuser and upper wedge-shaped cowling is installed along the length of confuser directly above the lower cowling to create together with sides of the diffuser and confuser two channels for the gas, each of which in cross section is almost symmetric relative its vertical axis. In the case each side of the upper wedge-shaped cowling in each channel for gas is located in the cross section with a gap in the area of neck above the basis of the lower wedge-shaped cowling, and in each of these gaps in the area of neck the half-shutter is mounted, which is fixed to a horizontal shaft. The technical result is increase of the efficiency and reliability of the device for gas purification.
