A method involves simultaneous processing of an area containing microorganisms by a photosensitiser and photocatalyst composition. They are kept for a period of time required for binding of the composition and microorganism cells. Then this area is exposed to optical radiation. An emission wavelength relates to a maximal photosensitiser and photocatalyst absorption and power density required for composition activation. The photosensitiser is methylene blue or/and brilliant green, and the photocatalyst is titanium dioxide nanoparticles. ^ EFFECT: method provides an effective microorganism inactivation with using the lower concentration of the photosensitiser ensured by simultaneous use of the photocatalyst and the photosensitiser. ^ 9 cl, 3 tbl, 3 dwg
