A method of producing an intermetallic catalyst for oxidation of carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons includes preparation of an initial intermetallic powder mixture, extrusion of a billet and heat treatment in inert atmosphere followed by leaching the obtained product with an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide. During the heat treatment the billet is pressed again, the processing is carried out in the mode of thermal self-ignition at 390- for 0.5-1 h.
