METHOD OF CONDUCTING CLAISEN-SCHMIDT REACTION ON HYDROPHOBIC SUBSTRATES

摘要

A method of conducting Claisen-Schmidt reaction involves interaction of aldehydes and ketones with α-methylene group on hydrophobic substrates. Hydrophobic ketones and aldehydes are interacted in aprotic nonpolar solvents in the presence of catalytic amounts of piperidine perchlorate and free base thereof with the preparation of corresponding chalcones in high-yields.
