The device for dephosphation of wastewater with vertical downward or upward flow, comprises two layers of granular material made natural phosphated rock, where the granular material has a granulometry of 0.3 mm, and a layer C1 of sand or gravel. The natural phosphated rock is apatite. The granular material layers are placed at a surface of the device, separated by the C1 layer and have a dimension of d 50of 0.1-0.2 mm. The device is (non)saturated with water, and planted with reeds. The C1 layer has a particle size of 0.1-8 mm.
