<p>Disclosed is a lead-free free-machining brass alloy that is highly hot-workable and resistant to dezincification, erosion, and corrosion. Good mechanical properties can be obtained by hot-working or hot-working and heat-treating said alloy. The disclosed lead-free free-machining brass alloy, which is hot-worked, contains between 19.0% and 22.0% zinc, between 2.0% and 3.5% silicon, between 1.0% and 2.0% tin, between 0.5% and 1.5% bismuth, and at most 0.20% lead by weight, with the remainder comprising copper and unavoidable impurities.</p> |
