A TURNTABLE UNIT AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF

Disclosed is a turntable module in cartridge form, which may be installed on, in or over exposed earth or soil. Also disclosed is a vehicle unloading facility, comprising a zone for receiving a load carried by a vehicle which is unloadable at a rear thereof, a turntable unit adjacent the zone, and an access way via which the vehicle can be driven forwardly onto a turntable of the unit, wherein a junction between the accessway and unit is angularly offset, about the turntable axis of rotation, from the zone, and the turntable is rotatable with the vehicle standing thereon to bring the rear of the vehicle adjacent the zone for unloading. An associated method of unloading a vehicle is disclosed also.
