PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor constituted to suppress the lowering of measuring precision accompanied by the use of the gas sensor.SOLUTION: The gas sensor includes an internal space into which gas to be measured is introduced from an external space, the porous diffusion layer embedded in the space from the end part of the internal space to the predetermined position of a sensor element in the longitudinal direction out of the internal space to apply a predetermined diffusion resistance to the gas to be measured, a pumping cell provided to be able to pump out oxygen in the internal space by applying predetermined voltage across the first electrode formed to the surface of the internal space and the second electrode formed to a space different from the internal space and the measuring cell formed to be exposed to the surface of the internal space and provided to be able to measure the current flowing through a third electrode and a fourth electrode by applying voltage across the third electrode, which can reduce the oxide gas component in a predetermined gas component to which the predetermined diffusion resistance is applied by the porous diffusion layer, and the fourth electrode formed to a region different from the internal space. |
