PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an asset management system for specifying the location information of an asset as a key for specifying a location from an unevenly distributed asset data carrier device, and for displaying various information and registration information in a portable information terminal.SOLUTION: The asset management system includes: an asset IC tag applied to each of assets in which the asset information of the asset is stored to be readable; an asset database device in which the asset information of each asset and flag information showing the type of the asset are stored; and a portable information terminal for acquiring the asset information of each asset and flag information showing the type of the asset from the asset IC tag and the asset database device, and for displaying the asset information of each asset. The portable information terminal is configured to select whether to display the asset location information from the asset database device according to the type of the asset obtained from the flag information.
