PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove molten slag adhered onto a side wall of a cooling part and to reduce temperature depression in a gasification furnace.SOLUTION: The gasification furnace includes: a gasification part 3, in which pulverized coal 9 is subjected to gasification reaction with a gasification agent 11 to give a product gas 4 and ash content in the pulverized coal 9 is converted to molten slag 8; a cooling part 5, in which the molten slag 8 flowing down from the gasification part 3 is allowed to fall into a cooling water 13 retained at the bottom; and a soot blow nozzle 31 provided in the cooling part 5 to eject gas along the side wall onto the surface of the cooling water 13, wherein the gas ejected from the soot blow nozzle 31 hits and removes the molten slag 8 adhered onto the side wall of the cooling part 5. |
