PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article inspection device for setting and adjusting inspection conditions for a workpiece easily in a short time.SOLUTION: The article inspection device includes: an inspection unit 3 for inspecting the workpiece W; a memory 7 for therein storing attribute information for determining the attributes of the workpiece W and the inspection conditions of the inspection unit 3 used to inspect the workpiece W with the attribute information and the inspection conditions related to each other; a display/operation unit 4 for performing selecting operation for selecting attribute information on the workpiece W to be inspected by the inspection unit 3 out of attribute information stored in the memory 7; and a controller 8 for extracting the inspection conditions related to attribute information that accords with or is similar to the attribute information selected at the display/operation unit 4 as provisional inspection conditions out of the inspection conditions stored in the storage 7, causing the workpiece W to be inspected by the inspection unit 3 using the extracted provisional inspection conditions, updating the provisional inspection conditions based on a result of that inspection, and causing the workpiece W to be inspected by the inspection unit 3 using the updated provisional inspection conditions as proper inspection conditions. |
