PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remaining toner sensor, along with a toner storage container with the same, capable of detecting a remaining toner with high accuracy irrespective of types of toner, being free from a cleaning mechanism for a sensor surface or a detection window, and being superior in assembly property and durability.SOLUTION: The remaining toner sensor 35 includes a rubber member 40, an actuator 41, a transmission sensor 42, and a holder member 43 to which the rubber member, the actuator, and the transmission sensor are attached. When toner pressure acts on the rubber member 40, a toner detection unit 40a of the rubber member 40 lifts up a pressure detection unit 41b of the actuator 41, thereby a light path of the transmission sensor 42 is unblocked, so as to detect toner. The actuator 41 rocks to the rubber member 40 side in accordance with decrease in the toner pressure, and, while there is no toner pressure, a rib 41d protruding from an arm portion 41a comes into contact with a periphery of an opening 43a of the holder member 43, thereby the toner detection unit 40a and the pressure detection unit 41b do not come into contact with each other. |
