PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spin wave element efficiently detecting a spin wave by a detecting unit and excellent in propagation efficiency.SOLUTION: The element is equipped with: a substrate 20; a multi-layer film 30 formed on the substrate 20 and including a first ferromagnetic layer magnetized in a laminating direction; and the detecting unit 50 and a plurality of input units 40 formed on the multi-layer film 30 and formed apart via a first nonmagnetic layer 70. The form of a part of an outer edge of the first ferromagnetic layer defines a part of an ellipse when viewed from the laminating direction of the first multi-layer film 30, a straight line connecting the input unit 40 with the detecting unit 50 is superposed on the major axis of the ellipse, and a part of the ellipse is present on the input unit 40 side. |
