PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve timing adjusting device preventing oil omission from an advance chamber and a retard chamber in cam torque driving.SOLUTION: A control valve part 40 built in a device body 10 of the valve timing adjusting device 1 includes an advance port, a retard port, an advance drain port, a retard drain port and a supply port on an axis, and a shaft 35 of a drive device 30 advances in a predetermined stroke so that a spool 50 moves to control the connection state of each port. By hydraulic oil supply from an oil pump 4 in hydraulic driving and by cam torque of a camshaft 2 in the cam torque driving, a vane rotor 16 can turn relatively to a housing 12. In the connection state selected in the cam torque driving, the advance drain port and the retard drain port are blocked to prevent discharge of hydraulic oil from the advance chamber and the retard chamber. |
