PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which has high water resistance and is excellent in durability.SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal layer held in between a pair of substrates facing each other and includes an inorganic alignment layer on the surface on the side of the liquid crystal layer of at least one substrate. On the surface of the inorganic alignment layer, a nanopolymer thin film whose body is a chemically bonded and coupled silane coupling agent is formed. |
