PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of lock action so that a following element stops a preceding element.SOLUTION: The belt includes: two or more elements 42 which are supported by an annular band-like member 46 and wound between variable pulleys 20 and 30; a projection 56 which is a front surface 50A of each element 42, and is formed further on a rotation center side of the variable pulleys 20 and 30 than the band-like member 46; a recess 58 which is a back surface 50B of each element 42, and is formed the projection 56 of the element 42 adjacent thereto, while the projection can be movably inserted; and a stepped part 60 which is formed between the projection 56 and the band-like member 46, and reduces a board thickness D2 on the projection 56 side in a height direction of the element 42 more than a board thickness D1 on the band-like member 46 side. The projection 56 and the recess 58 are formed so as to obtain a shape of non-contact with each other in the height direction of the element 42, even when the band-like member 46 side of the preceding element 42 tilts relatively to a traveling direction G while a corner part 64 of the stepped part 60 of the following element 42 is taken as a fulcrum. |
