Disclosed is a device for producing hydrogen equipped with: a burner; a combustion cylinder from which a discharge gas from the burner is discharged through one end thereof; a reforming part in which a feed fuel and steam are subjected to a reforming reaction to yield a reformed gas; a discharge gas channel through which the discharge gas discharged through said end of the combustion cylinder is passed; a low-temperature shift reaction part in which the reformed gas yielded in the reforming part is subjected to a shift reaction with the aid of a catalyst to thereby reduce the concentration of carbon monoxide in the reformed gas; a temperature-measuring part which measures the temperature of the catalyst present in the low-temperature shift reaction part; a vaporization part which has been disposed cylindrically so as to surround the extended part and in which stored water is heated by ambient heat to generate steam; a preferential oxidation reaction part which has been disposed cylindrically so as to surround the vaporization part and in which the reformed gas having undergone the shift reaction in the low-temperature shift reaction part is caused to undergo a preferential oxidation reaction, thereby further lowering the carbon monoxide concentration; and a control unit which controls the amount of water to be introduced into the vaporization part. The control unit controls the amount of water to be introduced into the vaporization part, so that the temperature of the catalyst in the low-temperature shift reaction part, which is measured by the temperature-measuring part, is a predetermined set temperature. |
