The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display device employing a light modulation film, and more particularly, to a liquid crystal display device employing a light modulation film for preventing the breakage of birefringent sea island fibers and improving pilling properties. The thus-manufactured light modulation material is not prone to the entanglement of birefringent sea island fibers (monofilament) and to the formation of fiber stripes, and therefore has improved visibility. Also, when birefringent sea island fibers are not subjected to a separate fiber-combining process or are combined, only a few thick fiber strands may be combined to prevent a portion of the fibers from being broken and the occurrence of pilling.
