PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrying device that has a structure for suppressing deformation of an external cover and reliably positioning an internal cover, and to provide an image forming apparatus equipped with the carrying device.SOLUTION: The carrying device includes the internal cover to be turned between a first position for guiding a sheet which is carried and a second position turned outward from the first position; the turnable external cover, disposed further outward than the internal cover; a linking element to be connected to the external and internal covers so as to turn the internal cover, in conjunction with the turn of the external cover; and a positioning mechanism for positioning the internal cover in the first position. The external cover includes a projection piece projecting toward the internal cover. A recess is formed in the internal cover. In the course of the internal cover's moving from the second position to the first position, the projection piece is at least partially fitted in the recess, thereby suppressing deformation of the external cover. |
