PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a difference between the printed conditions of a front and a back less conspicuous, when double-face printing is performed by a printer having two printing units than if printing is performed on the front and the back using the two printing units, at all times.SOLUTION: A printing engine A31 and a printing engine B32 are configured to be able to print on the front and back of a sheet of paper, respectively. A controller that performs switching control of the printing engine A31 and the printing engine B32 determines whether any of the ratio of images in image data included in a printing job, the ratio of color images, and the ratio of black areas, fine lines or half-tone areas is not less than a predetermined value. Based on the determination result, the controller switches between double-face printing using one of the printing engine A31 and the printing engine B32 and double-face printing by using both the printing engine A31 and the printing engine B32. |
