PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device suppressing generation of luminance unevenness in a projected image, while reducing the speckle noise of a laser beam.SOLUTION: The portable projector 100 (display device) includes: a scanner mirror 17 for projecting an image composed of a plurality of image forming elements in an arbitrary projection area by scanning of a laser beam; and a laser control unit 15 for controlling the supply of a current to a red LD 12, a blue LD 13 and a green LD 14 so as to make the red LD 12, the blue LD 13 and the green LD 14 output a laser beam by continuously supplying a current to the red LD 12, the blue LD 13 and the green LD 14 during a period longer than a predetermined period t1 of generating mitigation vibrations for making the output of the laser beam instable in a laser oscillation initial period without a stop, and so as to stop the laser beam output at least once during the period of scanning one image forming element. |
