PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect positional deviation between print heads of an optical writing device of an image forming device and the direction of the positional deviation, by a simple and inexpensive configuration for only sensing image density.SOLUTION: To detect the direction of deviation between the first and second LED print heads 2, 3, on the basis of a pattern formed by the first LED print head 2, overlapping with the pattern, two types of patterns for detecting rightward deviation and leftward deviation are formed by the second LED print head 3 on a photosensitive body, so as to form test patterns (first and second test patterns) for detecting rightward/leftward deviation. By comparing the densities of the first and second test patterns, positional deviation and its deviated direction are determined. |
