PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a robot, along with a method of controlling the same, capable of properly guiding a person to be guided.SOLUTION: The robot includes arms having hands, legs, and a body. The robot moves while guiding a person 201, and includes a trailing state estimation unit 136 that estimates a trailing state of the person to be guided to the robot based on deviation of a measurement position of the hand from the target position of the hand at the predetermined robot position, a walk adjuster 137 that adjusts the movement speed of the robot corresponding to the estimation results of the trailing state, and a drive control unit 138 that drives the legs to move the robot corresponding to the movement speed adjusted by the walk adjuster 137. |
