A non-caking, fluorinated common salt, useful particularly in preventing dental caries, is made by adding to salt a water-soluble complex fluoride, e.g. magnesium silicofluoride, sodium silicofluoride or sodium monofluorophosphate, to the extent that the salt contains 0.01-1 mg. of fluorine per gram.
