摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a follow-up driving control device which is excellent in the followability of follow-up driving control when a preceding vehicle changes to a decelerating or stopping state while the traveling behavior of a self-vehicle is prevented from becoming unstable.SOLUTION: The target inter-vehicle distance of a preceding vehicle base (preceding vehicle speed side) is calculated by the first arithmetic means of a follow-up driving control part 9, and the target inter-vehicle distance of a self-vehicle speed base (self-vehicle speed side) is calculated by the second arithmetic means of the follow-up driving control part 9, and when the target inter-vehicle distance of the preceding vehicle base is longer than a prescribed switching permission distance, the target inter-vehicle distance of the preceding vehicle base is selected given priority over the target inter-vehicle distance of the follow-up driving control by the target inter-vehicle distance selection means of the follow-up driving control part 9 so that the follow-up driving control can be performed with a stable travel behavior. Also, when the target inter-vehicle distance of the preceding vehicle base is shorter than the switching permission distance, the target inter-vehicle distance of the self-vehicle speed base is selected to the target inter-vehicle distance of the follow-up driving control so that the followability of the follow-up driving control can be improved.
