PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To considerably reduce the manufacturing cost of a stainless steel component such as a cold-forged component, a non-magnetic component, a high-strength component and machined component by providing a stainless steel wire rod for warm forging having excellent electrically heated property and warm lubricity and a plastic working method for the same, and stably performing warm forging of high productivity.SOLUTION: The stainless steel wire rod for warm forging is provided which has a lubricating film containing graphite on its surface, wherein the friction coefficient of the lubricating film at 300°C is ≤0.3, and the volume resistivity thereof is ≤1×10Ω m. The plastic working method for the stainless steel wire rod for warm forging is also provided. An austenitic stainless steel wire rod for manufacturing a non-magnetic component is also provided in which the above stainless steel wire rod for warm forging has an M value expressed by expression (a): M=551-462(C+N)-9.2Si-8.1Mn-29(Ni+Cu)-13.7Cr-18.5Mo, wherein C, N, Mn, Ni, Cu, Cr, and Mo denote mass% of each component. |
