The invention provides an epoxy resin composition having good wet resistance and high heat resistance as well as excellent mechanical performances such as impact resistance and suitably applied for lamination, moulding, casting and bonding, etc. The invention further provides epoxy resin and an intermediate compound applied in the above-mentioned epoxy resin composition. The invention relates to a multielement hydroxyl resin shown in the general formula (1), the epoxy resin shown in the general formula (3), or the epoxy resin composition selecting one or two of the multielement hydroxyl resin and the epoxy resin as necessary components. In the formulas, A represents a phenyl ring or a naphthalene ring which can be replaced by alkyl with 1 to 6 usable carbon numbers. G represents a glycidol base. Furthermore, n represents an integer ranging between 1 and 15.
