PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which includes a belt which is stretched and conveyed by a driving roller and a tension roller, etc., and can achieve a stable drive of the belt by suppressing the meandering of the belt without disposing a complicated mechanism.SOLUTION: An image pattern GP including toner as a meandering correction material is carried on the outer circumferential surface of the intermediate transfer belt 17 located on the side of the correcting direction opposite to the meandering direction D of the intermediate transfer belt 17, and the image pattern GP is scraped by the contact part 1811 of a cleaning blade 181, accordingly, the intermediate transfer belt 17 is shifted in the correcting direction opposite to the meandering direction D, then, the meandering of the intermediate transfer belt 17 is corrected. |
