PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the deterioration of power efficiency when a light-emitting diode is made not to emit light.SOLUTION: A lighting system includes a power supply device 20 which converts an alternating current from a commercial power supply 10 into a direct current and outputs the direct current, and a light-emitting device 30 which is supplied with a direct current from the power supply device 20 to emit light. The power supply device 20 has a frequency converting portion 21 which carries out frequency conversion to output an alternating current, an AC-DC converting portion 22 which converts the alternating current into a direct current, and a power supply side connector 200 for making electrical connection with the light-emitting device. The light-emitting device 30 has a light-emitting unit 33 including a plurality of light-emitting diodes, and a power-receiving side connector 300 used for making connection with the power supply device 20. When the power supply side connector 200 is separated from the power-receiving side connector 300, the AC-DC converting portion 22 of the power supply device 20 is separated electrically from the light-emitting unit 33 of the light-emitting device 30 and the frequency converting portion 21 is separated electrically from the AC-DC converting portion 22 in the power supply device 20. |
