PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding bearing and a base isolation device having this sliding bearing, capable of restraining damaging of a sliding surface and a sliding member, by reducing foreign matters on the sliding surface, when the sliding member slides on the sliding surface.SOLUTION: An elastic sliding bearing 104 includes a plurality of gas exhaust mechanisms 152 so as to surround a sliding plate 112. When the sliding surface 112S of the sliding plate 112 and the sliding member 122 slide, since an air chamber 162 is compressed when the rear end 160B of a piston member 160 is pressed by a pressing wall 154, air is exhausted toward the sliding surface 112S from an exhaust port 166M on the tip of an exhaust nozzle 166, and the foreign matters on the sliding surface 112S are removed. |
