PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium feeding device considering the capability of separating fed media placed on a placement part from each other when fed, and the state of the fed media on the placement part.SOLUTION: The medium feeding device (2) includes the placement part 6 on which the fed media (P) are placed, a first roller (3) for contacting the uppermost fed medium (P) out of the fed media (P) placed on the placement part 6 and feeding the fed medium (P) to the downstream side in the feeding direction, and a deflection forming means 9 provided on the upstream side in the feeding direction beyond the first roller (3) for imparting force onto the downstream side in the feeding direction to the uppermost fed medium (P) on the upstream side beyond the position of the uppermost fed medium (P) which the first roller (3) contacts, to form deflection C on the uppermost fed medium (P) between the first roller (3) and itself. |
