A method and system for transmitting information in a relay communication network are provided in the present invention. The method includes: establishing a first tunnel and a second tunnel, wherein the first tunnel is the tunnel between the Access Service Network GateWay (ASN GW) and the Base Station (BS) and the second tunnel is the tunnel between the BS and the Relay Station (RS) (S402); transmitting the signaling and/or data between the ASN GW and the RS through the first tunnel and the second tunnel (S404). The present invention enables the signaling and/or data transmission in the layer 3 relay.
