PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an exposure device and image forming apparatus which can maintain the exposure amount even if the quantity of light falls off due to the deterioration of the first emission section.SOLUTION: An exposure head 34 is equipped with a plurality of organic EL elements 70 for a source of main exposure light arranged along the main scanning direction X and a long organic EL element 72 for a source of sub-exposure light arranged in parallel with a plurality of organic EL elements 70 for the source of main exposure light. The quantity of light of the organic EL element 70 for source of main exposure light is detected by a sensor 68. When the quantity of light of the organic EL element 70 for the source of main exposure light falls off, the exposure amount of the exposure head 34 is corrected by way of making the organic EL element 72 for the source of sub-exposure light emit a light.
