PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately compensate the distortion of a signal.SOLUTION: This distortion compensating apparatus 110 compensates signal distortion caused by an amplifier 120. A multiplying part 111 uses a distortion compensation coefficient to compensate distortion of an input signal. A coefficient calculating part 118 calculates the distortion compensation coefficient on the basis of an input signal before subjected to distortion compensation and an output signal of the amplifier 120. An LUT (Look-Up Table) 114a stores the calculated distortion compensation coefficient. An address generating part 112 generates a first address that is based on electrical power of the input signal and for acquiring the distortion compensation coefficient from the LUT 114a. The address generating part 112 also generates a second address that is based on a phase of the input signal and for acquiring the distortion compensation coefficient from the LUT 114a. The multiplying part 111 performs distortion compensation by the distortion compensation coefficient acquired from the LUT 114a on the basis of the first and second addresses. The LUT 114a stores the distortion compensation coefficient calculated in association with the first and second addresses.
