PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of maintaining high image quality without enlargement and the decline of workability.SOLUTION: A reflection type optical sensor is arranged at a part outside an effective image area in a transfer belt 2040, and has eleven light-emitting parts, eleven microlenses for illumination, eleven microlenses for light reception and eleven light-receiving parts, etc., arranged at equal intervals along a main direction. Toner patterns (PattA, PattB) each have a pattern for density detection for which ten rectangular patterns of mutually different toner densities are arrayed in two columns for each color of toner, and is formed at a part outside the effective image area in the transfer belt 2040. Then, a printer controller 2090 simultaneously detects the toner densities of the two rectangular patterns adjacent in the main direction. |
