A prosthetic knee (108) includes an upper member (120), a lower member (122), and two or more links (124a, 124b, 126). The upper member, the lower member, and the links may be made of non-metal material, including plastics, woods, and/or other types of material. The upper member carries a first upper axis (130a) and a second upper axis (128a), and the lower member carries a first lower axis (130b) and a second lower axis (128b). One or more of the links rotatably link the first upper axis and the first lower axis, and one or more of the links rotatably link the second upper axis and the second lower axis. The lower member can rotate with respect to the upper member about an instantaneous center of rotation (131) defined by the first upper axis, the second upper axis, the first lower axis, and the second lower axis.
