METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR STRIPPING COVER FILM

Disclosed is an apparatus (10) for stripping cover film. The apparatus (10) includes an adhesive-tape feed roller (5); an adhesive-tape collecting roller (6); a rotational drive motor (9) for rotating the adhesive-tape feed roller (5) and the adhesive-tape collecting roller (6) in the forward and reverse directions, respectively; and an adhesive-tape pressing roller (4) for pressing part of the adhesive surface of an adhesive tape (1), which runs between the adhesive-tape feed roller (5) and the adhesive-tape collecting roller (6), onto a cover film (3) affixed to a plate member (2). The adhesive-tape pressing roller (4) causes an unused adhesive surface of the adhesive tape (1) to be pressed against and adhered to the leading edge portion of the cover film (3). After the unused adhesive surface of the adhesive tape (1) is adhered to the leading edge portion of the cover film (3), the rotational drive motor (9) rotates the adhesive-tape feed roller (5) so as to transfer the adhesive tape (1) in the direction opposite to the direction of feed. This is done to stick the used adhesive surface of the adhesive tape (1) to the portion of the cover film (3) other than the leading edge portion. In this manner, the method and apparatus for stripping cover film can ensure that the cover film affixed to the plate member is separated from the plate member with the adhesive tape and reduce the amount of use of the adhesive tape.
