PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus of molding a shell mold having a simple structure and small energy consumption.SOLUTION: With vibration added to shell sand 22, a heated metallic mold 10 is pushed in from above vibrating shell sand. After a lapse of a prescribed time after the metallic mold is pushed into the shell sand, the metallic mold is elevated from the shell sand together with a shell mold 40, the shell mold containing a hard layer molded by curing in the molding face of the metallic mold and a soft layer in a condition in which resin contained in the shell sand is softened in the periphery of the hard layer; thus, the shell mold is molded. Also, when the shell mold is molded simultaneously by a plurality of metallic molds, a bonded shell mold can be molded for which bottoms of the shell molds are joined together by making the soft layers stuck closely to each other. |
