摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a successive approximation A/D converter which has a wide input range without increasing mounting area or power consumption by a simple circuit configuration.SOLUTION: The successive approximation A/D converter includes a capacitor array 106 including a plurality of capacitors each of which has a value of capacitance gradually weighted by reciprocals of powers of 2 and each of which has one end connected to a common conductor (storage node SN). When a digital output signal corresponding to an Ain input analog signal is obtained by a successive approximation (comparator 104) between hold voltage VSN in each corresponding capacitor among the plurality of capacitors of the capacitor array 106 and predetermined reference voltage Vref, reference potential Vref in the comparator 104 is switched by MSB determination results in the comparator 104.
