Disclosed is an image display device (10) which comprises an image-information storage means (11) that stores image information; a display means (13) that displays and holds images based on the image information stored in the image-information storage means (11) on a screen; a type storage means (12) that stores the type of the image information stored in the image-information storage means (11); a detecting means (14) that detects operations on the image information stored in the image-information storage means (11); and a control means (15) that retrieves the type of deleted image information from the type storage means (12) when the detecting means (14) detects the deletion of the image information from the image-information storage means (11) and that erases the images held on the screen of the display means (13) on the basis of the type retrieved from the type storage means (12) when the images based on the deleted image information are held on the screen of the display means (13).
