A new method for propeller digital detection is provided. Based on images, the method implements non-contact digital automatic detection of the propeller parameter, such as pitch. Firstly, propeller images are captured by utilizing devices including a computer, a projector, and a camera and so on. Then the coordinates in a two-dimensional image coordinate system of all projection points of the propeller are obtained based on digital image processing technology. And then the coordinates in a three-dimensional real world coordinate system of all projection points of the propeller are calculated by utilizing a camera calibration model, in order to establish a three-dimensional coordinate model of the propeller. The blade pitch, blade thickness, blade width, blade weight, static-balance, and dynamic-balance of the propeller are calculated by utilizing computer numerical calculation method.
