PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus configured to prevent useless consumption of power or toner due to an unnecessary operation in recovery from a power-saving mode to a normal mode.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a cover opening/closing detecting part 2 for detecting that the housing cover of the image forming apparatus is opened/closed; a nonvolatile storage part 6 for recording the fact that the housing cover is opened/closed; and a partial power supply control part 5 configured to supply the power to the nonvolatile storage part 6. When the opening/closing of the housing cover is detected by the cover opening/closing detecting part 2 in the power saving mode, the partial power supply control part 5 supplies the power to the nonvolatile storage part 6, and the nonvolatile storage part 6 stores history information on the opening/closing of the housing cover, showing whether the opening/closing of the housing cover is detected by the cover opening/closing detecting part 2 in the power-saving mode. |
