PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable management of a client certificate without the necessity for a service provision Web server to connect to a certificate authority which is a client certificate issuer.SOLUTION: An authentication server 12 for checking the client certificate issuer is connected between a Web server 13 and a network 14. When a personal computer 11 accesses the Web server by use of the client certificate to utilize the service, the authentication server 12 checks the issuer of the used client certificate, and when there is no problem, the authentication server 12 delivers inherent information held in the client certificate to the Web server 13. The Web server 13 determines whether the client certificate used by the personal computer 11 is authentic or not from the inherent information delivered from the authentication server and a held client certificate information database 33. |
