PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus, capable of taking a low power consumption state when error occurs, and automatically recovering from the low power consumption state when the error is canceled.SOLUTION: A network multifunction machine 1 includes: a multifunction machine 3 that can take a normal power state and the low power consumption state; and a first NIC 100 that operates regardless of a power state of the multifunction machine 3 and communicates over a LAN 51. The multifunction machine 3 has a first error detection unit 140 for detecting error when the multifunction machine 3 is in the normal power state; and a power control unit 141 for shifting the state of the multifunction machine 3 to the low power consumption state when error is detected. The first NIC 100 includes: a second error detection unit for detecting error in the multifunction machine 3 when the multifunction machine 3 is in the low power consumption state; and a startup signal output unit which outputs a startup signal for shifting the state of the multifunction machine 3 to the normal power state when it is detected by the second error detection unit that the error in the multifunction machine 3 is canceled. |
