<p>The invention is a method of managing a USB device that comprises a mass-storage unit having a CD-ROM part. The CD-ROM part comprises a first software component. The device has a first configuration which comprises an interface of the mass-storage unit. The device is able to plug into a host machine having a second configuration. The CD-ROM part comprises a diagnostic agent and a configuration service. The method comprises the following steps: a) analyzing the second configuration with the diagnostic agent and generating a diagnostic status, b) selecting a first set comprising the configuration service and the first component according to the diagnostic status and deploying the first set into the host machine, c) identifying a configuration data according to the second configuration, d) updating said first configuration according to the configuration data.</p> |
