PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic monitoring device of video quality for estimating subjective image quality from only a compressed bit stream and intermediate code information generated in its decoding process.SOLUTION: This device includes: a macro-block layer parameter analysis part 1 for obtaining a quantization scale size defined with respect to each macro-block and a coding type of a slice from a compressed bit stream, an orthogonal transformation coefficient in each orthogonal transformation block of each macro-block, an orthogonal transformation coefficient in each orthogonal transformation block and a reference frame number in the macro-block applied with a motion compensating prediction; a quantization scale average value calculation part 2 for obtaining an average in a sequence of the quantization scale size for each coding type of the slice; a spatial degradation feature quantity calculation part 3 for obtaining a spatial degradation feature quantity in each macro block; a temporal degradation feature quantity calculation part 4 for obtaining a temporal degradation feature quantity; and a feature quantity integration part 5 for deriving objective image quality based on the feature quantities obtained by the calculation parts 2, 3 and 4. |
