PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome a problem that a discharging path is clogged as individual discharging paths are enclosed when discharging is performed through one suction means from a plurality of discharging caps.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: the discharging caps 51a-51d for receiving ink discharged by a recovery operation from nozzles of heads 101a-101d; one discharging pump 52 common to a plurality of the discharging caps 51a-51d; deformable individual suction paths 53a-53d such as flexible tubes respectively communicating with a plurality of the discharging caps 51a-51d; a common suction path 54 communicated with the discharging pump 52 mutually communicating with a plurality of the individual suction paths 53a-53d; and flow path resistance changing cams 55a-55d as fluid resistance changeable means for making respectively the flow path cross-sectional areas of a plurality of the individual suction paths 53a-53d changeable while the communicating conditions are kept as they are. |
