PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer coagulant which can improve a coagulation function to reduce the amount of added polymer coagulant by promoting the dispersibility of the coagulant into a suspension to be treated, considering that, when the polymer coagulant is added to the suspension to be treated and then agitation and mixing are performed, a fixed agitation time is required, but if the dispersibility into the suspension to be treated increases, it can be expected that the coagulation function is improved to enable the reduction of the optimal addition amount, and a sludge dewatering method using the polymer coagulant.SOLUTION: A sludge dewatering agent includes a water-in-oil emulsion made by emulsifying an aqueous monomer mixture solution, essentially containing a cationic monomer and an inorganic salt, in water with a surfactant so that a nonmiscible organic liquid is a continuous phase and the aqueous monomer mixture solution is a dispersion phase, and carrying out polymerization. It is preferable that the inorganic salt is 0.5-15 mass% to the liquid amount of the water-in-oil emulsion. |
