PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems: when manufacturing multilayer optical discs and high density optical discs, it is assumed that the reflectance and plate thickness of each recording layer must be more rigorously managed than before and an excessive burden is imposed on disc manufacturer, and furthermore, even if reproduction conditions are recorded on a disc, an optical disc device cannot carry out reproduction under suitable conditions at the point of reading out the conditions, and the device might not be able to read the recorded reproduction conditions.SOLUTION: Optimum reproduction conditions for the disc (for example, the reproduction laser power) are recorded in a disc region where reproduction is possible under uniquely prescribed reproduction conditions. An optical disc device reads the recorded reproduction conditions under the uniquely prescribed reproduction conditions, and enables reproduction through setting at the time of data reproduction. |
